This section discusses various minor adjustments to the interior. Individually, they might be details, but taken together, they are still worth mentioning.

Adding sockets

To be able to plug in an electric underblanket on cold nights, we installed extra sockets in the bench next to the refrigerator. (First photo.)

Second photo: the extra sockets on top of the wardrobe. Further details: 12V power supply and USB

Extra compartment in the fridge The Thetford fridge extends halfway over the wheel well and therefore has a rather minimal capacity. And on top of that, they skimped on a second door compartment. See also: Refrigerator fan

An extra door compartment for the Thetford N4080 can be ordered under the name "Door Bin Flat Shallow nr 1661020". Not cheap for such a plastic thing, but it does provide some extra space.

Corner protection

The corners of the beds get damaged easily if something is placed on the bottom on the go. (The wood pattern is not real veneer but a rather fragile coating layer with a nice wood pattern.)

We therefore protect the corners with plastic adhesive strips. Not pretty, but better than damage to the veneer.

Extra shelf in kitchen cabinet

Because we converted the wall cabinet into a storage cabinet, we were left with a shelf with a raised edge, which, with a little adjustment, fits nicely as an extra at the top of the kitchen cabinet. A sensor light is also installed.

Tray under the table

Since we are not going to convert the small seating area at the front into a bed anyway, the aluminium support strip is superfluous. Instead, we are mounting a sturdy plastic tray. (The currently visible screws will be painted black later on.)

Small toolbox

At the front of the Eriba, there are recesses in the small benches next to the drawbar box. That is a nice spot for a matching small toolbox. With the box in place, the side wall of the bench looks sleek immediately.

Warm feet

Unfortunately, floor heating is not an option for the 2024 Eriba model. An alternative is a separate underfloor heating unit. They are available in various sizes, but for the small front seat in the Eriba 540, the 50x30 cm version is the best...

Bumping your head

To avoid hitting the edge of the pop-up roof hard, we make two small foam bumper pads. They clamp firmly around the edge. (Only when the bed is an seating area.)

Bathroom side

We don't like the panel with the checkered pattern and the hooks on it. Removing it makes the room look bigger, and those hooks are pretty pointless anyway because you have to squeeze past the small table to sit down.

Hanging a picture frame over the holes from the removed black hooks hides them. We are neatly finishing off the other holes with small plastic caps.

The panel is removable from these plastic pieces. We will fill in the holes.

Screw caps

It is just a detail, but still. Here and there, those ugly plastic covers sit over the screw connections. They can be camouflaged a bit with a wood grain finish. For this, you need a piece of self-adhesive plastic and a sharp round punch with a 30mm diameter. Since they also often come loose, put them back with a little glue at the mounting points...

Baskets in upper cabinets

The first photo is a template for the dimensions of the upper cabinets. Baskets that fit perfectly are available for purchase at Xenos. With label holders on it, they make handy little storage containers for all kinds of loose items.

Comments and questions:

Flamina Campina: Nice, that separate floor heating! Where do you buy it and how much power does it use? Answer: We bought it on a well-known Chinese website. We have the 50 x 30 cm version and it uses max 60 Watts.

Günther Silbersock: It's ridiculous that the manufacturer of the refrigerator (1000 euros) saves money on a stupid plastic tray and charges around 40 euros for it. Answer: We agree :)

Sleurhut_Suus: Regarding the left photo of the first item (extra wall sockets). What is the use of that small blue button next to the fridge? Answer: It's the speed control of the fridge fans. See also: Refrigerator fan

Mark: I want to remove that panel on the side of the bathroom too, but how do I remove those two hooks? Answer: You slide the hooks up; there is a small nylon block underneath with two screws.
