The Eriba kitchen is fairly minimalist. (If you want more kitchen, look for the 600 series.) What could be better:
1) Countertop We are enlarging the countertop for more workspace.
2) Cutlery drawer We are replacing the cutlery drawer that broke immediately.
3) Extra shelf in cabinet Moved from the wardrobe.
4) Refrigerator Gets an extra door compartment and forced cooling.
1) Countertop. To extend the kitchen countertop, we used part of the table and the top of the dismantled bedside table. We connected the two sections securely with aluminum U-profiles. A fold-out supporting structure secures the whole thing to the side of the kitchen. It can be folded downwards, but it's practically never in the way for sitting or sleeping.
2) Cutlery drawer. After 500 km, the cutlery tray started to crack. The cause: the plastic is simply too thin. The photo on the left shows the beginning. The middle photo shows the bottom view after our first vacation. The photo on the right: get rid of it!
That's why we're making our own indestructible wooden cutlery tray with a custom layout. Because of the drawer's shape, the sides are slanted. The maximum height is seven centimeters. On the right is the plain version seen from above, and on the far right is the finished one with a light coat of stain. We're reusing the Velcro from the Eriba tray. Firmly attached.
